Marine science section 3.1

 IGCSE Marine section 3.1

The Syllabus states;

1 describe and compare the structures of plant cells and animal cells

2 describe the structure of a bacterial cell

3 identify the cell structures listed in 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 in diagrams and images of plant, animal and bacterial cells

4 describe the functions of the structures listed in 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 in plant, animal and bacterial cells

So, If you have ever taken IGCSE Biology, this is pretty close to section 2 in the Biology syllabus.

My Video on the subject is here:

The IGCSE Biology Video can also be used to effect here:

The important parts here is to remember the difference between a plant and an animal cell:

Cell wall is ONLY in plants

cell membrane can be found in both

nucleus can be found in both

Cytoplasm  can be found in both

Chloroplast  are  only in autotrophs as plansa and algae (we will talk about corals later)

mitochondria can be found in both

Vacuole is large in plant cells
