IGCSE Marine science- salinity and salt crystals

Here is a small experiment you can do at home:

You need:

Sodium chloride

a glass that is heat resistant

A heat source

a spoon

A thermometer.

We add as much salt to the water as we can dissolve.

Then we carefully heat up the water to about 80 degrees.

As Water starts to evaporate,the crystals will start to form at the surface.
